Get It Out! brings people together to make art for the Current Moment

Get It Out! is collage art made by artists and non artists.
No art experience is necessary.

The Get It Out! process invites people to express ("get out") and share their resistance, hope, thoughts and feelings about this challenging American political moment using the power of community, art, and images.

Our focus is on making expressive art - where expressing what we feel and think is emphasized over technique.

Through expressive art, we can nurture ourselves, clarify complex feelings, connect with others, and speak out with immediacy and anonymity. If you can cut an image out of a magazine and glue it on card stock, you can "Get It Out!"

Get It Out! art is made during gatherings with others in community, or on your own if you choose.

We provide guidance and facilitation for home or community workshops in the Bay Area. You gather the people and provide space. We bring the materials and facilitate. See below for more information about hosting a workshop or making a collage on your own.

We encourage you to create a Get It Out! Project where you live.

Get it Out! originated in the Bay Area. If you live outside of the Bay Area, we can offer you guidance and advice to start your own local Get It Out! project or to host a workshop where you live using using easy to find materials.

We increase our impact through public art exhibitions, joyful community art-making, and collaboration.

Public exhibitions of Get It Out! art put free speech into action. What if multiple communities each engaged 100 people to make art? What if we collectively made 1000 collages, or 5,000? or 10,000? Imagine the impact we could have by supporting individuals and sharing our art through exhibitions around the country.

We now have more than 250 collage art pieces made across the Bay Area. Stay tuned for upcoming exhibit details!

Exhibition and Opening

We are currently seeking a venue in the Bay Area to display more than 250 pieces of community made art - somewhere people can easily view it. The exhibit opening event will include projection of each art piece, art-making, and opportunities to connect with others to learn ways to take meaningful action.
